KEVIN LYONS’ LITTLE MONSTERS AT POW! WOW! HAWAII
In Honolulu for the yearly POW! WOW! Hawaii 2016, American artist, creative director, illustrator and typograph Kevin Lyons was given the perfect wall to bring to life some of his signature mischievous monsters. The New Yorker came up with the idea of these funky monster characters after he had his first child. His daughter wouldn’t eat her school lunch, so Lyons drew monsters on her lunch bag with messages like “eat your eggs, or I’ll break your legs,” and other funny lines. This wall is one of the most exciting pieces we’ve seen of the art festival so far.
