Stream in the Earth’s Veins
Aliha Gallery proudly presents “Stream in the Earth’s Veins”, a solo exhibition of paintings by Nazanin Karimzadeh, in which the artist transforms the rotation of the Earth into a poetic metaphor for personal, familial, and social transformation.
In this collection, Karimzadeh approaches the four classical elements — water, air, earth, and fire — as dynamic and interrelated forces. Through the interplay of form and color, she creates a renewed vision of these elements. Her exploration of rotation (or dowaran) reflects an intimate process of self-transformation, where obstacles are not barriers but pathways toward higher visual and existential qualities.
As art critic Hafez Rouhani notes, what unfolds in this body of work surpasses the boundaries of a purely personal narrative. It resonates with broader social and political undertones, turning the artist’s introspection into a shared reflection on life within contemporary conditions.
From the artist’s statement:
“The Earth spins with all its soul. Water, air, earth, and fire become seeds and bubbles… The Earth turned with all its limitations and its firm fourfold existence. What lies ahead is my unique coordinates in a flowing observation.”
Nazanin Karimzadeh, born in Iran, holds an M.A. in Painting from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran. She previously held a solo exhibition titled “Interferon Beta” at Honar Gallery in Sari and has participated in several group shows at Aria Gallery and Honar Gallery. Alongside her artistic practice, she has taught at various art institutions and founded Narenji Art School in Sari, where she continues to nurture emerging artists.
