This spring, Aliha Gallery in Tehran will host a unique exhibition showcasing the works of Dutch artist and theorist Rosa Menkman, a prominent figure in the field of glitch art. Curated by Iranian visual artist and researcher Nazila Karimi, the exhibition will run from April 18 to April 25, 2025.
Rosa Menkman is among the few artists who seamlessly combine practice with theory, exploring the aesthetics of digital error and visual collapse. Her work offers a distinct lens through which viewers can reflect on image-making in the age of technology.
Nazila Karimi, the curator of the exhibition, explains her motivation:
“Menkman creates a living connection between form and concept, theory and creation. Experiencing her works can open up a new perspective for Iranian audiences on how technology shapes visual expression today. This exhibition invites us to witness glitch, breakdown, and reconstruction within digital media.”
“Revisiting Glitch Art” aims to foster dialogue among artists, researchers, and audiences interested in new media and digital aesthetics.
The exhibition is open to the public.
