In this report, we explore the artistic universe of Kanine (Virginie Carrayol), a French artist and craftswoman dedicated to creative mending and upcycling of second-hand clothing and textiles. For Kanine, embroidery is both an art and a means of repair—of fabrics and of oneself. Through techniques such as patchwork and the Japanese Sashiko embroidery, she breathes new life into used textiles while preserving their history and character.
Her work is enriched with embroidered quotations, original patterns, and portraits, making each piece unique. Every week, she shares her expertise in workshops, inviting others to engage in this process of artistic and personal restoration.
